Donald Floyd Moore passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026. He had a very long and full life. Don’s wife Eileen and son Daniel preceded him into eternal life. Don and Eileen shared their love with their four children Daniel (Nancy), Shannon (Darrell), Timothy (Julie) and Lisa (Steve). They were greatly blessed with 10 grandchildren, Melissa, Bradley, Max, Amy, Beau, Melanie, David, Kevin, Lauren and Ellen and 17 great grandchildren.
Don was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin in 1926. The family relocated to Detroit, Michigan. Born into a military family, he spent his early years living at Fort Wayne. At the age of 18, Don enlisted in the Army Air Corp and was stationed in northern Italy during WWII. Don was a gunner on a B-24 bomber and flew a dozen missions with the 456th Bomb Group. In 1951 Don married the love of his life, Eileen, and started a family. His career began as a designer at the architectural firm Albert Kahn. He became an engineer for General Motors and remained there until his retirement.
Don and Eileen enjoyed traveling and the summer cottage they had in the Irish Hills. They loved to host family and friends for holidays and spending their time relaxing at the lake. Our parents always believed that family was their greatest accomplishment and faith was their guide. Dad will be greatly missed but our family has found great comfort in knowing that he and Eileen have been reunited in their heavenly home.
Mass of Resurrection for Donald Moore will be Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Refuge Church 3700 Commerce Rd. West Bloomfield, MI 48324, immediately followed by a service at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, MI. A luncheon will follow at the conclusion of the Cemetery service
