Doris Edwards

Doris Edwards, age 93, of White Lake, passed away Monday, July 5, 2021, at Independence Village of White Lake. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Carol (Pat) Bachelor, Nancy (Brent) Helm, and Marilyn (Joseph) Maggioncalda; her twelve grandchildren; her twelve great-grandchildren; and her daughter-in-law, Wendy Edwards.

Doris was born December 26, 1927, in Detroit, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Howard and Charlotte (Schroeder) Birdsall. She married George M. Edwards, and they shared seventy-one wonderful years together until George’s death on April 28, 2021. Doris spent much of her time giving back to her community. She worked for a volunteer organization called Service of Love, where she spent time reaching out to elderly members of the community. In addition, she was very active in Meals on Wheels of Waterford, and she worked for Camp Oakland for ten years. Doris was also a member of the congregation at the Bethel United Church of Christ in Waterford for many years. She was a wonderful woman who will be missed by many.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Charlotte; her husband, George; her daughter, Karen Kneisel; and her two sons, Ronald and David Edwards.

Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 16, 2021 at 4:00pm (Gathering 3:00pm) at Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6805 Bluegrass Drive, Clarkston.
