

It is with a heart full of cherished memories and profound respect that we announce the peaceful passing of Doris Evelyn Fisher. Born on the 5th of May 1926, in Detroit, Michigan, Doris was a beacon of love and faith throughout her 99 years on this earth. She completed her earthly journey on the 23rd of August 2025, in Commerce Township, Michigan, leaving a legacy of kindness and devotion that will be forever remembered.
Doris was the beloved wife of the late Harry Fisher, to whom she was married in the spring of 1944. Their union was a testament to enduring love, and together they built a life filled with joy and companionship until Harry's passing in 1991. She was a nurturing mother to Barbara (married to Dale Seal) and Ken (married to Diana Fisher), guiding them with a gentle hand and a strong moral compass. Her role as a grandmother was one, she cherished deeply, imparting wisdom and love to Jeff Seal and also Emily (married to Mark Dummett). Doris was also a doting great-grandmother to Jessica, Brenton (Shiann), and Brooke Seal, and she had the joy of becoming a great-great-grandmother to Oliver, Hendrix, and Zay Each generation was touched by her tenderness and grace.
Doris's sister, Edna Adams, will fondly remember her, and cherish the memories they shared from early childhood to adulthood, as will her nieces Diane Roediger, Donna Acker, Dorothy Adams, Denise (married to Chris) Fowler, and she was predeceased by her nephew, the late Donald Adams. Her extended family and a host of friends will miss her dearly, as she was a figure of unwavering support and love in their lives.
Doris served as a Sales Associate at JL Hudson, where her warmth and dedication enriched the lives of both customers and colleagues alike. Her work reflected her commitment to excellence and her innate ability to connect with others. Doris's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. A devout Christian, she found great solace and joy in her Church, Union Lake Baptist Church, where she was a steadfast participant. Her love for the church community was evident in her cherished moments spent with fellow congregants. The teachings of evangelist Charles Stanley were a source of inspiration for Doris, and she would often be found watching his sermons on television, absorbing the spiritual guidance that she would later share with others. She also enjoyed her visits wit Pastor Jeff McKeever from Union Lake Baptist Church. Her passion for gardening was another facet of her life, as she tenderly cared for her flowers and plants, nurturing them to bloom with the same love she extended to her family and friends.
Doris was the embodiment of a loving, faith-filled, and gentle soul, whose presence was a comfort to all who knew her. Her life reflected her beliefs, lived out with grace and humility. Today, we celebrate Doris Evelyn Fisher, a woman whose life was a testament to the virtues of love, faith, and kindness. She will be profoundly missed, but her legacy will continue to bloom in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Union Lake Baptist Church, located at 8390 Commerce Road, Commerce Township, Michigan 48382. Interment will take Place at Parkview Memorial Cemetery in Livonia, Michigan. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at church.
