I'll never forget the time Jay, Doug, & I insisted that Dorothy hand over a can of spinach. We 3 were utterly convinced that we could squeeze that can open in time to help Popeye defeat the evil sailor Brutas. LoL. We were more than likely around the ages of 7-10. When we couldn't squeeze it open we were so sad while Mrs. Oliver had that "laughing chuckle" going on within her eyes as I handed that spinach back to her...

I am so sorry for your loss and I'm praying for healing an peace for all of you. She was a wonderful person and you were so fortunate to have her in your lives. I am honored to have known her for a short time. She will be greatly missed

Dorothy was a kind and generous  soul and a lovely and helpful  friend and neighbor. She was someone to emulate  and am sending prayers to all her loved ones . Mary Carey Seymour

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the Oliver family. Our families have been close though the years and we will miss Doroty as one of our own. For so many years of my youth she was my other Mom and later in life she was there to help support my Mom and Dad in every way she could.

Rest In Peace Dorothy, my former next door neighbor friend for the first 19 years of my life. We shared a birthday together, June 30th. The year of birth may have been 24 years apart but that never mattered. Using your raft every summer was a highlight for me. Bob & Fred worked so hard putting it up for everyone at the start of every swim season. And as a youngster always showing up to say "Can I Come In?" That was most each & every night to watch the cartoons with Jay & Doug. LoL. And wonder of all wonders it only took us 20 years to get our own telephone so we could finally quit hittin' you guys up for your's. This is a shout out to all the Oliver kids (Mike, Steve, Jay, Doug, & Judy (did I miss anyone?) God rest your mama's soul...

To all of the Oliver family, Dottie was a special and beautiful person.  She always welcomed my daughter Amy and I to her home and treated us like her own family.  I enjoyed having coffee with her and her great smile.  She will be missed and is loved by so many.  I am so glad that I knew Dottie.  May all the wonderful memories of Dottie help you through this sad time. with love,

My thoughts go out to all of the Oliver family - I'm so grateful for having the opportunity of meeting Grandma Oliver, as Rebecca fondly has shared so many stories about her. I love that we have her art hang on the walls of our house. She will always will be a very special lady, who touched the lives of many. You have my deepest sympathy on losing Dottie. I will always remember her beautiful smiling face. The Oliver family's love and commitment to Dottie made her life full of joy. Everyone that knew Dottie will cherish the memories of her forever.
