Born to Edward and Gladys Lyman on August 5, 1955, in Detroit, she was one of seven children. Gail lived a life full of love, creativity, and unwavering dedication to her family and friends.
Gail retired from Farmers Insurance, where she not only excelled professionally but also formed deep, lasting friendships that she cherished like family. Her vibrant spirit shone brightly in all she did, including the wonderful marriage she shared with the love of her life, Bart Ferguson, whom she wed on November 6, 1982. In a beautiful testament to her skill and creativity, Gail crafted her own wedding dress, and both she and Bart wore white on their special day.
An exceptionally talented seamstress, Gail's gifts extended far beyond the sewing machine. She lovingly created curtains for their homes, redesigned two of their residences alongside Bart, and repaired her children’s cherished teddy bears and blankets. Her crafting skills were matched only by her passion for making family life special, from cooking delicious meals to organizing family gatherings that kept everyone close.
Gail had a deep love for the outdoors and cherished times spent camping, especially at Aloha State Park in Cheboygan, right on Mullet Lake. Her adventures also included treasured visits to Mackinac Island and Disney World. Her fondness for Pooh and Piglet reflected her gentle and nurturing nature, which she extended to everyone around her.
Her kindness was boundless—always ready to help a friend, family member, or neighbor in need. Gail was the glue that held her circles together, seamlessly integrating her friend groups and ensuring that the bonds of family and friendship remained strong.
Gail leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth. She is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Gladys Lyman; and sister Linda Caswell. Along with her loving husband Bart, she is survived by her children Elyse (Adam) Muehl and Gary (Mallory Morrell) Ferguson; grandchildren Beckett, and twins Brooks and Kaylen; and siblings Tom (Sue) Lyman, Carol (Larry) Ahnert, JoAnn Hunter, Fred (Mary Ann) Lyman, and Rick Lyman.
