James Harvey Hensley

Beloved husband of Alvey "Jean" Hensley for 74 years. Loving father of Donna (Olaf) Thorpe, Larry (Chery) Hensley, Gary (the late Wendy) Hensley, Deborah (the late Dave) Pointer, Phyllis Spencer and Mack (Sheila) Hensley. Proud grandfather of 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren. Brother of Clay (Terry) Hensley, Jr., Paul Hensley, Herbert Lee Hensley and Glen (Lois) Hensley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Sadly, he is preceded in death by his parents, Clay and Gertrude Hensley, two grandsons; Johnny Hensley and Cory Cesaro along with his siblings, GB Hensley, Verneda Watkins and Bethel Watkins.

James was a Preacher and devout member of the Church of Christ, Shaddick Rd. in Waterford. He enjoyed gardening and hunting. He and his friends enjoyed getting together in their group to raise and hunt with their beagle dogs in Northern Michigan. Mr. Hensley's greatest joy came from the love he had for his family, he will be very much missed by all.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road in White Lake. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 20, 2025 at the funeral home from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Burial will take place on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at the Mills Township Cemetery in Prescott, Michigan.
