John Patrick Gibbons

John Patrick Gibbons, age 69, of Waterford, was born August 29, 1953 and passed away August 25, 2023. Loving father of Jaclyn (Joshua) Preston, Joanna (Jim) Keel, and Julie (Zachary) Christopher. Proud grandfather of Sophia, Olivia, Sadie, Lily, and Emily. Dear brother of Richard (the late Nancy) Gibbons and Thomas (Jerry) Gibbons. John will be missed by numerous other family members and friends. John was preceded in passing by his parents, Eddie and Georgia Steele.

John was a remarkable man who left us with a treasure trove of memories. His infectious humor could brighten up any room, and his gift of gab was a true art. He had a fascination with aliens, sparking countless lively conversations. His childlike spirit was evident in his love for toys, as he always knew how to make playtime magical. John’s ability to make forts were legendary and some of his daughters happiest memories. He was a true car enthusiast and tinkerer at heart. He had an uncanny knack for disassembling things just to understand how they worked. The roar of a revving engine never failed to capture his focus and bring a smile to his face. His passion for all things automotive was a reflection of his adventurous spirit and curiosity. No matter what problem you had John could always engineer a solution - almost always involving duct tape - or could just offer a good listening ear if a solution evaded him. Most importantly, he was a loving father who cherished his girls beyond measure - including his 5 grandchildren. Though he's no longer with us, his humor, talkativeness, extraterrestrial curiosity, and playful heart and spirit will forever be a part of us.
