Leonard S. Garbacz

Leonard Stanley Garbacz, age 88 of Sylvan Lake, Michigan, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and caring. A social and genuinely kind person, Leonard had a natural way of making you feel welcome and asking if you needed anything. He was known for his generosity and his willingness to help others, never hesitating to offer his time or support. Wherever he went he brought his sense of humor.

Leonard had a deep love for the water and boating. His adventures took him around the great lakes to Florida and the Bahamas. Leonard enjoyed camping in his fifth wheel, wintering in Florida and Arizonia with his late wife Donna by his side.

Leonard retired from Ford Motor company where he worked in design and drafting. He took great pride in his career and the craftmanship that went into his work.

Beloved husband of the late Donna; loving father of Joanne (Mike) Kleman, Chris (Lynn) Garbacz, and Thomas (Susan) Garbacz; stepfather of Debbie (Frank) Moceri and William Moceri; grandfather of 8 and great grandfather of 3; brother of Louie and Christine.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026. The family will receive visitors from 2:00-4:00 with a Celebration of Life Service at 4:00 pm at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black and Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Rd., White Lake, MI 48386.
