Dear Walt,Kelly, Scott, Donna, Debra Stacie and the rest of the Hurst family..
I will remember Dee with only the fondest of memories...a loving wife, mother, grandmother, cousin (Although I always considered her an Aunt)
What always touched me about Dee was that she was so giving of herself; always putting others before herself.
I'm going to go back several (30) years to a time when I felt I could only talk to her. I would call the house and she would say "are you OK hon?" and if I said no, she offered to come over or have me come over to chat one on one. I knew whatever I said to Dee would stay between the two of us. She was my confidant and gave me guidance when I needed it the most. She always would end our visit with the best of hugs and kisses. She had the power to brighten your day, with her kind heart and smile, and I always felt better after conversing and listening to advice she had to offer.
I remember all of the fun times at the house (yours or ours) 
My daughter will attest to the fact that Dee was a woman who provided comfort when needed, as
Lauren remembers having Dee's shoulder to cry on when her grandma (my mom) passed. I know this goes without saying but I loved Dee so much as did Lauren. Heaven has gained an angel who will be watching over her family and all if those she loved with her soft sweet smile and heart of gold.
I miss her so much already.  I live you all Hurst family

Heaven is that much sweeter with you there!

My heart breaks for anyone who knew and loved Dee(Mama Hurst).  Her beautiful daughter Debra is one of my closest friends since the fifth grade.  I have countless memories of her and inside her home.  One of my memories was in the kitchen, all us girls Kelly, Ronna, Debra, Stacie, and probably Sue Durrand and Sonya Hurshberger, were all talking about boys... :) Mama Hurst was asking all of us questions and listening to us talk, until either Stacie or Ronna asked mom a couple.   After she replied, Debra yelled, MOM!  And we all laughed.  She was always honest and straight forward with her family.  Never a dull moment in the Hurst home. :) She will be so missed.

Our hearts are broken.  We love Deanie so very much and have a great many wonderful memories of her. Our world became a bit darker hearing the news of her passing.  We are so sorry to all of you and wish we could be there to hug and love on each one of you.  Our lives were blessed just knowing her.  I will miss her smile and loving nature.

Wally, I'm so sorry for your loss.  I have fond memories of you and Dee bowling on Saturday nights with my parents, laughing and enjoying each other's company all those years ago.  May Dee rest in peace.

I called you Mom, that's crazy because I think I am a little bit older than you.  I love you and all of your family so much.  You all took me and Ernie in and treated us as one of your own at a time when I was very sad and lonely.  We spent many fun times together over the past few years.  Thank you for that.  I will always see that special smile on your face.  Will miss you always.

We are sad to hear the news of your mom.  She was a great lady who we enjoyed talking with.  You, Joel, Everett, and your father are in our thoughts and prayers.

I've known the Hurst family since I was in junior high. Every time that I went to Stacie's house as a kid or a family event as an adult, Dee was always so friendly and always had a smile on her face. She just made you feel comfortable to be around. She was one of the most kind hearted, caring moms I have ever known. She will be greatly missed.

The death of my friend of 50+years has left me heartbroken.  We talked on Friday when Walt was in the hospital and I am so grateful to have had this final conversation with you.  Little did I know it would be our last.  So much I wished I would have said.  Like Tom I hope you are finally pain free and can rest in peace.

I am very honored and blessed to have had Dee in my life for she is truly one of God's gifts to which I give thanks!!!! May God grant Dee eternal rest and the Hurst family the strength to bear this great pain.  Love you all so very much!!!!!!  XO
