Pamela was born in McLennan County, Texas. Being a daughter of a military father, she lived in many places including Norway, New Mexico and then residing in Papillion Nebraska. After graduating from high school, Pamela attended St. Joseph School of Nursing (Creighton University) where she pursued a career in nursing, a profession she embraced with unwavering dedication. Her career was not just a job but a calling that allowed her to touch countless lives with empathy and expert care.
While working at St. Joseph Hospital, Pamela met the Love of her life, late husband Thomas, who was visiting a friend when they crossed paths in the hallway. He was from Detroit and stationed at Offutt Air Force base. After Pamela graduated and Thomas left the Air Force, they married and moved to Michigan and raised their family. Pamela continued her nursing career working as a Behavior Substance Abuse Counselor for Hegira programs.
Pamela enjoyed family trips to Cass and Silver Lakes, spending time fishing with Thomas, watching the Kanas City Royals and Chiefs; her favorite baseball and football teams, crime shows on ION, eating out, feeding and watching birds; especially Cardinals, listening and singing to 60’s and 70’s music, sharing a meal and good conversation, although dinner was never complete without asking, “what’s for dessert?”, would talk about her late husband Thomas as if he was still in the room, watching her grandkids swimming and playing at the lake, being a great listener and sharing an ice coffee with her granddaughters and playing the slot machines whether at the casinos or on her cell phone.
She was the beloved daughter of Raymond and Gladys. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Thomas, her brother, David, her sister-in-law, Bernadine and sister-in-law Joan. Pamela is survived by her children, who were the pride and joy of her life: Karen, Michael (Deb), Chris, Michelle (Ron), and Tina (Steve-deceased). Her legacy continues through her adored grandchildren: Katie, Josh, Jamesyn, Tommy, Tyler, Brandon, Rebecca and her cats Nick-Nick and Trixie.
In addition to her immediate family, Pamela is survived by her brother-in-law Jerome, who, alongside her extended family and friends, will forever cherish her memory.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society in honor Pamela’s life and legacy. She will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held in the Summer, date to be determined.
