Saw Marcia recently. We talked about you, and how hard your passing was for us. Can't believe how long it's been already. Loved you like a brother Robin, miss you still.

Can't believe it's been two years Robin. I miss the hell out of you. And I have no one to email or call now with esoteric music, movie or tech questions. (Every one of which you always knew the answer to). Or to meet at the Royal Oak Brewery for a beer and burger and laughs. Jesus, you left us way too soon.

I just learned of Robin's passing.  I am so sorry to have learned this news.  Robin and I worked together for years.  He would share lots of information about many topics.  The one topic we agreed on most was music.  It didn't matter what band or song I would go to him with he'd have the answer.  He made me CD's of music we both enjoyed.  I know Robin had touched many lives and will be missed very much.
Rest in Peace Robin.

Rob, I remember when we'd stay up and watch Second City, Benny Hill,and Monty Python when you lived with us.  Linda would be upset at us because of the roars of laughter that came from us, downstairs late at night.  I truly miss your infectious laugh.  As time goes by, and Linda's leaving becomes a little more distant, I will begin to grieve for my loss of you.  I'm sorry that it's taken some time, but I miss you, little brother.  I don't know what it is like to be where you are right now....I have no idea, but I'd like to believe you are with the others that we had lost while you still shared this earth with me.  I will find out, one day, and I hope we laugh about past TV comedies and the skit that I am feeling at this very moment.  Your Big Brother, Terry

Thanks to the many friends and family who have added to our Guest Book Memories of Robin to cherish forever! He was, as Mike Ridley told me, "One of a Kind". If you had the pleasure of knowing Robin you would appreciate this comment and know it to be TRUE in the NICEST WAY POSSIBLE! His love for fun, family, music and knowledge surpassed anyone I ever knew! He drew people to him without even trying. People need laughter to enjoy life. He was missed by Disney for his artistic and comedic talent and all the TV and Radio Stations would have welcomed his Robin Williams type quick wit and tangent grasp of what true raw comedic humor displays!! How to describe my Uncle Rob:
Kind, Genius, Passionate, Funny, Animal Lover, Baseball fan, Foodie, Witty, Early adaptor of any type of new technology, Opinionated, Generous and Caring to the MAX.

Like Aunt Cheech said, he was the go-to for any information or advice on a new purchase or movie, restaurant,etc. He knew so much about everything. An educated expert!! 

When I was little, I always looked forward to presents from Uncle Rob because I knew it would be "cool" and high tech. He always gave the best gifts and was just as excited to try them out as we were to have them. 

He cared for Grandma and Grandpa and was there for them (even though Grandpa sometime drove him crazy). I would laugh at his under the breath comments to Grandpa when it was just the two of them living together. He loved all animals and was the best pet parent any cat or dog could ask for.

I loved listening to his stories. He always lit up talking about the "Good old Days" at Westacres, Kensington and scuba diving. 

He was all of that and so much more. I cannot believe that he's gone. 

We last talked at Aunt Linda's funeral and made plans for him to come over and meet my kitties and have sushi.

 I am still in shock that he's gone and am SO SAD that we did not spend more time together. 

He was one of a kind and the world was a better place because of him!

I just heard from a friend about Robin's passing.   My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.  I have been living out of state for the last 20 years and have not had the privilege of seeing Robin.  A while back we had the chance to "talk" by email.  With promises of meeting up again soon.  I'm mad at myself for not making sure that happened.  I met Robin in the mid 70's at Maple Beach - Kensington Park.   Robin was Mr. Maple Beach.  I smile everytime I think of him.  A kind, kind man.  There are people we meet in our life's that no matter how much time goes by in between seeing one another - they are always in our hearts and always close.  Robin was one of mine.   Robin was always the picture taker during those years.  But I looked in my books to see if I could find any.  Posting a few that make me smile.  Hope they do the same for others. Just learned of my friend Robin's passing. Robin's been a great friend ever since I started working at Kensington Park in 1979. He went out of his way to make the new guy feel at home at Maple Beach, and we've been friends ever since.  A ridiculously good teller of funny stories, selfless, way intelligent and personable, he was truly one of a kind. A great guy and even better friend, I will him immensely.

Please know we are in process of making arrangements for a Memorial Party in honor of Robin at Westacres Clubhouse in West Bloomfield, MI. I will keep you posted with date, time and address!! From an early age my parents realized how smart and intuitive Robin was. When he was 3 yrs old my dad and he were standing outside glaring at the stars in the night. My dad's love was astronomy in high school. Dad declared seeing a certain star system, Rob corrected him. Dad went to his Astronomy book and in his astonishment discovered, "Robin was correct"!! Rob was brilliant! He was my never ending source of entertainment and resource for everything from best movies to watch, music to buy to any life situation that I needed back up and information. He was incredibly grounded. He was a second Dad to my kids. He never asked for anything from us, he ALWAYS GAVE TO US. He was a BIG KID with FUN STUFF FOR EVERYONE!!!! Rob, know you were a GUIDING LIGHT IN MY LIFE IN EVERY WAY AND YOU WILL REMAIN HERE IN MY LIFE AND MY KIDS LIFE FOREVER AS A TREASURED RESOURCE OF LOVE, FUN! You opened our eyes to Music, Photography, Computers and Computer Toys and how they can add to fulfilling life's needs and treasures. MISS YOU UNBELIEVABLY....AND THANK YOU. Your sis, Cheech

Robin was one of a kind. Thinking about him brings back memories of a soft-spoken, funny, good-hearted friend from Westaces/Walled Lake School years.  I pray that God comforts the Ward family at this time, as his passing is a great loss.

Rob, you have been with me all of my life and now you have joined Mom and Dad, Tom, Mimi and Pompa, Aunt Joy, Aunt Zoe, Uncle Perry, Soupy Sales and my babes, Linda.  
I envy you, but I must stay here for a while and take care of things for the kids if I can.
I just want to say it was a great privilege to pick on you when we were kids.  Next time around, I promise to let you have all the prizes from the cereal boxes and let you win at wrestling.

Robin Ward was absolutely the funniest and most loyal life long friend anyone could ever have. I remember the first time I saw Robin was in the second grade, the first day of school at Our Lady of Refuge, in Orchard Lake. The nuns kept calling me Rob, getting my name mixed up with Robbin. I think that was Robins only year at OLR, then he went to Union Lake school until Keith School opened. His house in Westacres was on my morning Free Press route. We became friends while at the Westacres Beach in the summers and then bagan hanging out with Johny King & Charlie Proulx. We would often ride our bikes to Donovan Drug Store,they had a soda fountain & counter, and also Nan's Party store at Commerce & Green Lake Roads. We always took the path through Westacres Woods to get there. We also rode our bikes to Clark Pharmacy in Union Lake because Robin said they were the best place to buy his beloved comic books and Mad Mgazine. Robin lobved talkng to my brother Mike about comics. I wish Robin had done more as an artist. He could draw incredible renditions of all sorts of comic book heroes and many other things. I mean he was very, very good at it. His whole family is artistic, especially Faye. Robin got me hooked on Mad Magazine. Another summer tradition we had was to flag down the Twin Pines Dairy Truck in Westacres and buy a whole 2 pound tin of Potato chips, dip and a gallon of hawaian punch. That was the greatest. One time we went down Warner Drive and spread the left over dip on the back wall of Karen Boyles garage in a smiley face and stuch potato chips in it. That moldy smiley face was there for years. Night time flashlight tag at Kings or Spicers was always fun.
Several times we rode our bikes all the way to Cranbrook to watch the Detroit Lions practice. My Dad knew the grounds keeper and we could go in through the back. So many memories, especially of crazy kid stuff in Wesrtacres. Robin sheparded me through the hall of CHS my first few days in the 9th grade. Then great memories of football at Walled Lake Central. Robin & I double dated at our Senior Prom and then the four of us went to Kensington & Edgwater Park the next day. I wore his #75 jersey in the WLC Football Team photo, not my #72, our senior year (fall of 69) because I left mine home and he had a family thing somewhere that day. That always made him kinda mad.I remember his old brown Dodge Dart he had for years. Great times at his Mom & Dad's cabin up north on canoe trips with Arnie Gillert, Randy Vetter & Mark Fitsgerald. One of my best memories were the care packages Robin would put together and send to me while I was in the Navy right after High School. In one of those was a cassette tape in a radio show format with crazy skits featuring Randy Vetter, Fitz (Mark Fitzgerald) and Arnie Gillert and the latest songs. Great stuff, especially while in the Mediteranean and oh so funny. All Robin's idea no doubt. Robin was always so thoughtful. You always knew how important Robin's family was to him. It was obvious how much he loved them all. Robin came to almost every one of my son's football games at WLC and Our Lady of the Lakes. We would see him once in a while at Tigers games. He was so good at helping us fix whatever went wrong with our computer at home. So much more and just not enough words to say how special he was. Even though he was hard to get a hold of and somewhat reclusive in recent years, he was always the same whwn you did see him. Just like Arnie said, it was like time stood still since tha last time you saw him and it was always the same old funny,caring Robin each time. Rest in peace friend. I remember Robin Ward from when we went to school together at Clifford H. Smart Jr. High and Walled Lake Central High School. He was funny and everybody liked Robin. He was always pleasant and upbeat. He did his part to make the world a better place. Goodbye Robin  -Matt Norman, WLC '70

Deepest condolences to my old ice skating buddy, Jaye, for the loss of her brother.

My Uncle Robin. Words cannot express how much he taught me about what it means to love life, especially in connection to animals. (And Japanese animation, of course)

His heart was literally larger than life when it came for caring for the wild deer that shared his neighborhood, or his efforts at keeping the lakes healthy. 

His example of communicating with his pets, however, showed me what it really means to honor another being whether it walks on two legs or four. His generosity, gentleness, respect and enthusiasm for for all life has touched so many people.

I am honored and feel eternally blessed to be one of those people. 

My Uncle Robin was, and will remain in my heart as the best of the best.

Robin was a funny kid growing up, always kept us laughing. I will remember that about him always. Rest in Peace Robin!

Robin will be greatly missed. My memories of our times together are priceless. As a very close friend in our younger years he was so full of life, hilarious, with the greatest sense of humor. Although I didn't see Robin very often, each time was as if we had just seen each other yesterday. He had this uncanny ability to just be in the moment. He seemed to truly enjoy each time together but I wish it could have been more. I hope now he is painfree and finds eternal happiness. My condolences to Terry also for his loss of Linda. May God bless the entire Ward family during these trying times.
