Ruth Jeanete Larsen, age 91, of Commerce Township, formerly of Milford, South Lyon, and New Smyrna Beach, Florida, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Serenity of Commerce Assisted Living. Left to cherish her memory are her six children: Ann (Dave) Graustein, Thomas (Carol) Larsen, Barbara Larsen, Cathy Priebe, Bridget (Rodney) Kastl, and Daniel (Tina) Larsen; her seventeen grandchildren, her twenty eight great-grandchildren; her two great-great-grandchildren; and many other loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Ruth was born February 3, 1931, in Detroit, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Charles and Emma (Masuch) Reschke. Ruth was introduced to the love of her life, Alfred, by his sister, who was Ruth’s dear friend, many years ago. Ruth and Alfred started dating, fell in love, and were eventually married in 1950; sharing sixty three wonderful years together until Alfred’s death on April 14, 2013. Throughout her life, Ruth greatly enjoyed all the vacations she took to New Smyrna Beach in Florida; so much so that she moved there just so that she wouldn’t have to vacation anymore! She loved to take walks on the beach and watching the turtles. In her free time, Ruth could always be found reading a good book, completing a jigsaw puzzle, or watching Wheel of Fortune on TV. She was a wonderful woman who will be greatly missed.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Emma; her loving husband, Alfred; and her sister, Jean Harmon.
In accordance with Ruth’s wishes, cremation will take place. No public services have been scheduled. Ruth will be inurned with her husband, Alfred at Oakland Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later date.
