Ruth was born on November 14, 1922, in Somerville Texas, with her parents and siblings eventually calling Pontiac, Michigan their home.
After graduating from Pontiac Central High School, Ruth went to cosmetology school and would eventually open her own Beauty Shop. Ruth met her beloved husband Francis while they both worked at General Motors. They were married for 62 years prior to his death in October 0f 2011. Ruth and Francis bought their first house in Keego Harbor in 1952 and created a loving home for their four daughters, Ruth Ann (Roger) Paulson, Kimberly (Robert) Redner, Lynda (David) Droulard and Cynthia Barnett. Ruth was Blessed with 9 grandchildren, Kristen (Jose) Alvarez, Amie (David) Gibb, Arthur (Alexandria) Redner, Ellen Redner, Sarah (Droulard) Bates, Kyle (Kylie) Droulard, Andrew Barnett, Nathan (Courtney) Barnett, and Philip Barnett. Ruth cherished her 3 great grandchildren, Ava Gibb, Blair Bates, and Miguel Barnett. She would have loved to have met her fourth great grandchild, Baby Redner, expected in April.
Ruth was devoted to her family. She crocheted beautiful works which she usually gave away for others to enjoy. Ruth was an accomplished seamstress; you could always find her making or mending articles of clothing for her family and friends. The Poly home always had wonderful aromas coming from the kitchen for Ruth expressed her love for her family through her cooking and her baking.
Ruth was also devoted to her Catholic faith and shared her devotion with her children. The greatest giift Ruth gave her family was to know God and to let them know that they were never alone, God was always with them.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe and Ruth Guzman, her brother William Guzman, and Peter Guzman; her sisters Mary (Guzman) Mora and Carmen (Guzman) Ortez. She is survived by her sister Beatrice (Guzman) Mellado.
Her loving caring spirit and humor will be missed as she taught us all how to give grace and a touch of humor to all that we meet along the way.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Prayer
Our Lady of Guadalupe, my mother,
into your hands joined in prayer, take my prayers,
petitions and hopes,
and present them to Jesus for me.
Remember the love
and care your hands rendered to Him,
He will not refuse what they hold now,
even though they are from me.
Amen
