Sharon Kay Scott, a cherished soul whose life was a testament to love, faith, and kindness, entered into eternal rest on July 4, 2025. Born in Highland Park, Michigan, on September 7, 1953, Sharon grew up imbued with a spirit of compassion and a heart full of God's grace. She departed from this world in Commerce Township, Michigan, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering devotion to her family, her church, and her community.
Sharon was the beloved wife of the late Ronald Scott, and her love story with him remains a beacon of true partnership and mutual respect. She was the dear twin sister of Karen (James) Devine, who together shared an unbreakable bond that only twins can comprehend. As a loving aunt, Sharon brought joy and wisdom to the lives of Robert Roides, John Devine, Lynda (Michael) McCarty, and Frank (Debbie) Wilt, Jr. Her sister-in-law, Nancy Wilt, together with many great-nieces, great-nephews, and countless other family members and close friends, also survive her. They will forever cherish her memory and the warmth she brought into their lives. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Laura Parkin, and her brother-in-law, Frank Wilt.
After graduating from high school, Sharon dedicated 35 years of service to Ameritech, where she was respected and admired by her colleagues for her diligence and integrity. Her work ethic was paralleled only by her commitment to her faith as a devout Christian.
Sharon was a cornerstone of the Union Lake Baptist Church community in Commerce Township, Michigan. Her involvement in the church was profound and multifaceted; she served in numerous roles with a focus on nurturing the spiritual growth of the young. Teaching children in Awana and Cubbies brought her immense joy, and her ability to impart the Christian faith to the next generation was truly a gift from God.
Her interests were as varied as they were enriching. Sharon had a passion for crafts and could often be found creating beautiful pieces that reflected her artistic spirit. Gardening was another of her joys, where she found peace and connection with God's creation. A dedicated genealogy enthusiast, she traced her family's roots with a historian's precision and a descendant's pride. Sharon's love for the Detroit Tigers was unwavering, and she relished every game, whether watching or listening with fervent support.
A wonderful pet mom, Sharon's kindness extended to her beloved furry children, Samantha, Sable, and Ben. Each of them received her unconditional love and care, and they, surely greeted her with when she arrived in heaven with plentiful kisses.
Sharon was a living example of a loving, kind, and faith-filled life. Her presence was a blessing to all who knew her, and her absence leaves a void that cannot be filled. In the words of the revered Mother Teresa, "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love." Sharon lived by this maxim, turning everyday moments into opportunities for great love.
As we bid farewell to Sharon Kay Scott, we are reminded that while her earthly journey has concluded, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched.
