William J. Carmean

William J. Carmean, age 69 of Pontiac and Waterford; passed away December 4, 2010, at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. Born July 19, 1941 in St. Ignace, Michigan. Bill was raised in St. Ignace where he graduated from LaSalle High in 1959. He later served in the Army and was a member of the Military Police serving in Stuttgart, Germany. Upon finishing his time actively serving his country, Bill continued to serve in the Army Reserve until retirement as well as a 25-year career working for General Motors. Husband of the late Karen; former husband of Marilyn of Waterford, MI; father of Bill (Lisa) of Middleville, Michigan, Michael (Denise) of Clarkston, David (Christen) of Waterford; proud grandfather of the late Nikkolas, Alison, Samantha, Jessica, Alexandra, Katherine; brother of Doug (Gail) Carmean of West Bloomfield, Jeff (Laura) Carmean of Crystal Lake, IL, Shelly (Brooks) Partridge of Sault Ste. Marie, Kathy Winkelman and Debbie (Tom) Evashevski, both of St. Ignace, MI; son of Durwood and Gladys Carmean of St. Ignace; step-father of Dennis Wallace, along with many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. The funeral service will be Thursday, December 9, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens, 43300 Twelve Mile Rd. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday. Cremation will follow; In lieu of flowers, memorial envelopes will be available for Grand Rapids Home for Veterans c/o cashier’s office, 3000 Monroe NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505.
