William F. Kecskes

William (Bill) Francis Kecskes, age 79, died of various medical complications on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at MediLodge Nursing Home. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Jean, his two sons, Michael (Jenny) Kecskes, Wayne (Sheree) Kecskes, daughter, Lynn Spitza and sister, Clare Angerelli. He leaves four grandchildren, Lauren Hotvedt, Nick Kecskes, Ryan Spitza and Katelyn Spitza and will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and sister Cathy Durham.

Born on December 16, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan, he was one of three children born to Kate and Frank Kecskes. He attended Mumford High School before serving in the Michigan Army National Guard. He owned and operated his own Van Modification/Conversion business for many years before retiring in 1999.

In his younger years, Bill enjoyed Men's League Bowling and once rolled the desired "300" perfect game. He liked watching the local Detroit sports teams and had a deep love of the automobile industry. He enjoyed going to car shows, attending the Woodward Dream Cruise as well as watching cable channels that featured automobiles. His passion for working on cars reached a new high when he obtained and virtually rebuilt his beloved 1966 Ford Falcon.

He and his wife made numerous additional friends while spending their retirement winters in Florida. Bill was always willing to help a friend or neighbor and always made an effort to make everyone feel welcomed.

The visitation will be held on Friday, November 28, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the White Lake Chapel of Elton Black and Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road, White Lake, Michigan 48386. The Funeral Service will also take place at the Funeral Home on Saturday, November 29, 2014. The family

will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Mr. Kecskes to Great Lakes Hospice or to the charity of your choice.
