Carol Ann Wells Allison, age 91, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025, in Wichita, Kansas, with family present. Carol was born on April 10, 1934, to Dr. Alvin Young “A.Y.” Wells and Verina (Binyon) Wells in Missoula, Montana. She moved to Moline, Kansas at a young age and lived there until she was 11, when she moved to Winfield, Kansas. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Winfield High School, class of 1952. She then attended the University of Kansas, graduating in 1956 with a degree in Physical Therapy. She became a licensed physical therapist, being issued license #3 in the state.
On January 27, 1957, she married her high school sweetheart, Lynn Allison. They would eventually settle in Wichita, where they would raise their two daughters, Susan and Julie. Above everything else, Carol’s family was the center of her life. She was the planner and creator of memories that will last generations. She was notorious for her chocolate chip cookies and banana bread, both made from “secret” recipes. She and her husband enjoyed weekly dates together and KU sports; they attended their football games for over three decades no matter the weather. Rock Chalk Jayhawk!
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lynn Allison in 1999; and sister, Sula McSpadden.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Jeff) Fawcett and Julie Allison; six grandchildren, Brennan (Stephanie) Fawcett, Andrew (Lindsay) Fawcett, Paige Fawcett (Daniel Gonzalez), Allison (Sam) Jorge, Amanda Green, and David Green; 16 great-grandchildren, Riece, Roczen, Remi, Parker, Hudson, Sloan, Stevie, Pearce, Kannon, Amari, Brix, Wells, Liliana, Alexander, Olivia, and Gracie; sister, Ruth (Richard) Day; and many loving friends and extended family members.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 8 at 11:00 am at Highland Cemetery, Winfield, Kansas. Dr. Becky Brannock will serve as officiant. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate in her memory to the Kansas Humane Society.
