Cheno married his high school sweetheart on May 29th, 1976 and they started a family together. He was a man who loved his family and cared for them deeply. Cheno loved sports. Golf, bowling, and softball were a few of his favorites. He was involved with his kids sports, and was a coach for their soccer and softball teams. He worked extremely hard for many years at Southwest Paper Company, making many lifelong friends, and ensuring the family was well taken care of. He completed his accounting degree at WSU. He also worked for Boeing as an accountant, and for the past 30 years worked as an accountant for the Midian Shrine. He loved music, was a self taught guitarist, and wrote songs of his own. He was also a diehard Chiefs fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Ila Workman, several Aunts and Uncles, as well as 2 nephews, Robert Sharp and Logan Befort.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joni; sisters Kim and Cindy Workman, his son Dustin Workman, daughter Shannon Coleman and her husband Evan; grandson Alec Hughes and his wife Mariah, Granddaughters Halle Hughes and Ashlyn Palmer and 3 Great-Grandkids.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Hillside Funeral Home West, 2929 W. 13th St. N., Wichita, KS 67203.
