Donna went to live with God on March 28, 2026. Her death was unexpected and leaves her family deeply saddened.
She was the daughter of Robert and Ruth Ann (“Dina” Ross) Harris. She grew up in Kansas City, MO and moved to Wichita, KS at the age of 10. She graduated from Wichita Southeast High School class of 1964 and Wichita State University class of 1968. She met her future husband in high school and again while attending WSU. They had their first date on New Years day 1970 and were married just a few months later on March 21st . David and Donna were blessed with three children, large loving families, countless amazing lifelong friends, wonderful neighbors, and loving church families. She loved to teach and worked as an elementary teacher (5th grade at Bryant Elementary), many years as a preschool teacher (West Heights Methodist), and later opened Loving Arms Daycare at Fairhaven Church. Most importantly she was a full-time mom and homemaker, for which her children are eternally grateful. Donna loved God, time with friends and family, any excuse for a party, a good laugh, a beautiful sunrise, sunflowers, the color green, cats, dark chocolate and a good glass of wine. Donna would flash the “I love you” sign to all of her loved ones whenever she had a chance and she was determined to spread kindness to all those around her. Donna would tell you that kindness is contagious, so in her honor, please go out and spread a little kindness everyday!
She is survived by her husband David Cox, son Cavan (Rhonda), daughters Kara Cox (Matt Smith) and Carli Eppright, grandchildren Lola, Nicole, Lauren, and Jordan, brothers Robert “Bobby” Harris (Sharon “ST”), Dennis Cox (Debi), Tom Cox (Debi), sisters Gloria Cox and Marlene Franklin, and many extended family from both the Harris and Cox Clans. She was welcomed to heaven by her parents Robert and Ruth Ann Harris, parents-in-law Harold and Francis Cox, brother Kenton Cox, and nephew Kelly Cox.
A Memorial will be established through Ridgepoint Church.
