

Eleanor Lucile Safford was born on September 17, 1934 in Brookfield, Ohio, the daughter of William C. and Hazel I. (Wishart) Safford. She grew in Hobart, IN and moved to Industry, PA when she was in the seventh grade. She graduated from Beaver High School in Beaver, PA with the class of 1953.
Eleanor was a model for a short time in Pittsburg, PA .
She attended Cosmetology School and received her certificate in East Liverpool, OH.
Eleanor was united in marriage Clarence E. Carver on December 27, 1957 in Industry, PA.
She worked as a beautician, and then as a clerk and engraver at Egglers Jewelers in Beaver, PA, she then worked for Plantscape and traveled around Pittsburg caring for plants in businesses.
Eleanor moved to Wichita in 1995 and worked in food service at St Francis Hospital and then for the Goddard School District.
She enjoyed oil and watercolor painting and gardening. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.
Preceding Eleanor in death were her parents, two brothers William Safford and Robert Safford.
Surviving family members include her daughter Janice Nelson and her husband Rick, two grandsons Brent Nelson and Laura Hill, and Todd Nelson and his wife Grace. She is also survived by two great-granddaughters Autumn and Adelyn.
