

In memory of John Leslie Eutsler, 77, who passed away December 24, 2024 in Lewisville, Texas. Funeral services will be on Friday, January 03, 2025 at 11:00 am in Wichita, KS at Ridgepoint Church, 8000 West 21st St., Wichita, KS 67205. Burial will be at Sunset Lawns Cemetery, 2100 Sunset Rd., El Dorado, KS 67042, following the luncheon at Ridgepoint.
John was married to Marilyn J McCully (Jackson) on October 21st, 1989 in Wichita, KS.
John was a longtime resident of Kansas growing up in Andover, and later living in Wichita. John and Marilyn made their home in Lewisville, TX while John continued with his IT career with FoxMeyer Drugs and IBM.
John retired from IBM in August, 2011.
He was born in Salina, Kansas to John Earl Eutsler and Delores Joyce Raplee-Eutsler on July 15, 1947. John was the elder son followed by Archie A. Eutsler in 1950. John attended Andover grade school, junior and High School, graduating in 1965 from Andover HS.
He attended college at Wichita State University, and completed his BA degree in Computer Science from Troy University in Troy, Alabama while serving in the United States Air Force. During his 11 years in the Air Force, John was a decorated service member having received two commendations and medals for meritorious service. His 11 years of service also included a tour of duty in the Philippines.
John was previously married to Barbara Anspaugh of Wichita, KS, and together they raised three girls, Monica, Shelly, and Anna.
After serving 11 years in the Air Force, John moved his family to Wichita, KS to go into the Mill Works (lumber and building supplies) business with his father and brother.
Music was very important to John. He enjoyed big band and jazz music having played the trumpet in high school. One of his daughters stated, ¨He was a music geek….and always wanted to share with anybody that would listen.¨ John enjoyed baseball and was an accomplished pitcher. His favorite baseball team was the Atlanta Braves. Later in life, he enjoyed attending the Texas Rangers Baseball games when family came to visit. He also enjoyed golf and jogging.
John also enjoyed playing cards and games (bridge, Texas Hold-em, Solitaire). He was a computer tech and enjoyed spending time online with accounting and investing activities. He was an avid reader and enjoyed movies.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Delores.
John will be remembered for his love of jazz music, enjoying Manhattans in the pool, his love for his family and his dogs, Goldie and Alvin, his funny and sarcastic sense of humor, and his loyal and faithful nature - and in his later years wearing his well-worn straw cowboy hat.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years Marilyn; his daughters, Monica Kik-Turner and Son in-Law John Turner of Oklahoma; Shelly Olson and Son in-Law Peter Olson of Connecticut; Anna Godefroy and Son in-Law Tim Godefroy of Texas, and Stepdaughter Kathryn McCully-Russell and Husband Andrew Russell of Texas; 9 grandchildren - Blake, Rachel, Josh, Alisha, Lachlyn, Gracie, Gavin, Rynan and Kohyn; great-granddaughter, Clair; and his brother Archie and wife Jeannine Eutsler of Wichita, Kansas.
