Lawrence (Larry) Pickett, 92, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013 at The Manor at Park West Plaza. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, April 24th from 1-6pm family present from 4-6pm at the Hillside Funeral Home West. A Funeral service will be Thursday, April 25th, 2:00pm at Metropolitan Baptist Church. Larry retired from the advertising department of the Wichita Eagle. Previously he had worked for the All Church Press, Southwest Chemical Supply, and Midwest Surgical. Larry enjoyed gardening, sports, and after retirement traveling with ACAP, bowling, and golfing with his friends. He was a charter member of Metropolitan Baptist Church and active as a deacon serving in various capacities. He is survived by his wife, Lois, of 69 years; his son, Jim Pickett (Dianne) of Ozark, MO; and daughter, Nancy Edwards (Dave) of Norman, OK; six grandchildren; and 2.5 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Metropolitan Baptist Church, 525 W. Douglas Ave, Wichita, KS 67213.
