

Mary “Janet” Parson,82, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2012. She will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. She raised and was always supportive and proud of her 3 children; sons
David Leffingwell, atty, Dr. Bruce Leffingwell, and daughter Jenni Iron Wing. She received her master’s degree in science from Kansas State in 1975 and worked as an Administrative Dietician at St. Francis hospital until 1981. She continued to work as a dietician for The American Red Cross with specialization in The Good Neighbors Nutrition Program. She loved life and people. After retirement she traveled extensively throughout Central and South America for months at a time, and had the opportunity to visit Alaska, China and Ireland as well. She enjoyed music and singing, and was a member of The Sweet Adelines, and her church choir. She always had a special place in her heart for animals. Janet was proceeded in death by her parents, a sister Jean Scribner, her brother Dr. James Reed, and her son Bruce. She is survived by her son David, daughter and son-in-law Jenni & Clem, grandchildren Joshua and Natasha Iron Wing, and 5 great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Wichita Humane Society or the Mt. Hope Nursing Home Activity Dept. Service 9:00 a.m. Thu.,
