While living in Norman, Peggy attended grade school at the parish Catholic School. In approximately 1968, Peggy's family relocated to Bel Aire, Kansas. Peggy then attended Brooks Middle School and then went on to Heights High School graduating in 1973.
While at a local roller skating rink, Peggy met Alan McIntire, and this was the beginning of their 54 year love affair. Peggy and Alan would date for three years and on November 10th, 1973 they were married at Resurrection Catholic Church in Bel Aire Kansas. In November of 2024 they celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary with their family. Peggy and Alan would live in Wichita until 2001 when they relocated to her family farm outside of Towanda Kansas.
Peggy was the loving mother of three daughters, Lacey Arrasmith of Wichita (Brandon), Bonnie McIntire of Augusta (Alex), and Abby Weishaar of Towanda (Samuel). She was the Grandmother to Ruth and Andrew Arrasmith, Emma McIntire, Anna and Maks Karkins, and Noah and Levi Weishaar.
Peggy was a dedicated mother to her children and wife to her husband working as a housewife. She did work as a photography retoucher before having children. Then when the children were growing up she spent time working at Riverside Elementary as a lunch aid and recess attendant. Later, Peggy worked as the secretary for Hilltop Church in Wichita.
Peggy loved art in all its different mediums. She was a painter, sculptor, ceramist, stained glass artist, and dabbler in just about any medium that caught her eye. Peggy was part of an art show at both Wichita City Arts and contributed works of art for fundraisers including Wichita Public Schools (2002) and Hope Community Church. She passed this love of art on to her children and Grandchildren. Peggy loved music and reading. She enjoyed gardening and creating beautiful sitting areas to relax and visit in. Peggy had an extensive collection of tea pots and was always ready for a tea party. Peggy loved to travel, and was fortunate to visit Europe, Vancouver, Seattle, and the Great Lakes. Her favorite place to visit was Bright of Morn, her cabin in Creede Colorado. Any opportunity to show off the beauty of God's creation surrounding her cabin was a highlight for Peggy. Spending time with family for evening meals or shopping trips was a highlight to her day. As grandchildren came she was always ready to have them pile on her lap and read them a story. As they grew too big for her lap, she settled for hugs, chats, and crafts. Most importantly, Peggy was a fierce prayer warrior, devoted to lifting up her family and friends in daily prayer. Peggy loved the Lord and always wanted to encourage others in their faith.
