Boyd Martin “Marty” Weber, 68, of Williamsburg, passed away on August 28, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, William B. and Mary McDonald Weber. Marty was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, proudly serving his country from 1967-1976. He pursued several educational opportunities following his military service. After receiving his Bachelor’s in Business Administration from St. Leo University, he went on to receive his CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Consultant) certification from the Wharton School of Business. He also earned his CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter), RHU (Registered Health Underwriter), and REBC (Registered Employee Benefits Consultant) certifications from The American College. He worked as an Employee Benefits Consultant for his own business, Weber and Associates, before retiring from TFA Benefits. Always heavily involved in the local communities, Marty held membership in several areas of civic leadership, including as a William & Mary Mason School of Business Executive Partner, and with the Langley AFB Civic Leaders Association and Peninsula Chamber of Commerce. He also served 18 years with the Oyster Point Rotary and another 7 with Williamsburg Rotary. His many interests included archaeology, archery, astronomy, backgammon, boating, classic cars, custom Harleys, exotic sports cars, flying, Formula 1, genealogy, guns, history, martial arts, metal detecting, photography, and racquetball. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia; son, Christopher and his wife Anne, along with his grandchildren, Ruby and Naomi, all of Seattle, WA; sister, Dorothea of Tucson, AZ; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 9:00 – 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 2 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg. The memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM at Crosswalk Community Church (Kingsway), 5100 John Tyler Hwy, Williamsburg.
