Jason Christopher Laliberte, 44, of Wolcott, passed away unexpectedly after a short illness on November 26, 2025, at St. Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by the people who loved him most. Born on October 8, 1981, in Waterbury, CT, Jason was the beloved son of Paul and Deborah Laliberte, who cherished him from the moment he came into the world.
Jason was a true craftsman. He poured his heart into his work, owning and operating his own carpentry business. His hands shaped wood into beauty, and his dedication showed in every detail. Those who worked with him respected not just his talent, but his honesty, his steadiness, and his sense of humor which he carried with him everywhere he went.
A “Townie” through and through, Jason was deeply tied to his community and his lifelong friends. But he was never happier than when he was outdoors. The mountains, the rivers, the quiet places in nature were home to him. He hiked, climbed, kayaked, and chased adventure with a sense of wonder that never faded. He loved to snowmobile and found joy riding his sled around with all his friends. After going to Montana to hike Glacier National Park, Jay was mesmerized by its beauty, and he always talked about moving there. Maine also became a place of lasting memories, where summers with family turned into stories they will treasure forever.
Jason loved sports and cheered passionately for the New England Patriots and the Baltimore Orioles. But nothing compared to the joy he found in being a father. His wife and son were his whole world. Every moment they shared—every laugh, every adventure, every quiet car ride—was a gift Jason held close. The bond between them was deep, unwavering, and filled with love.
Jason leaves behind his devoted wife, Eva; his beloved son, Chase; his parents, Paul and Deborah; his brother, Michael, and Michael’s partner, Marisa. His absence will be felt every day, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew him and in the countless lives he touched with his generosity and warmth.
A funeral service celebrating Jason’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Wolcott Congregational Church, 185 Center Street, Wolcott, CT 06716. All are invited to gather directly at the church. Calling hours will occur at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service. Burial will take place privately at the convenience of the family.
