

She was born May 28, 1937 in Waterbury and was the daughter of the late Francis H. and Alice (Thiffault) Smith.
Juanita was the Asst. Tax Collector for the Town of Wolcott for over 20 years before retiring. She enjoyed traveling with her friends at the Prospect Senior Center, cruising with her “Little Honey”, taking photographs and scrapbooking.
She leaves her children, AJ Govain and wife Doreen of Southington and Lori Charette and husband Arthur “Ty” of Wolcott; four grandchildren, Andrea Govain and Fiancée Jay Hinton of Walden, NY, Jonathan Govain and wife Haruna of Japan, Tyler Charette of Groton and Coree Charette of Wolcott; two great grandsons Landon and Greyson, who she loved so much; one brother, Arnold Smith and wife Joyce of Southington; two sisters, Claudette Lennon of Windsor and Georgiana “Ginger” Teach and husband Richard of Naples, FL; her “Little Honey” Joseph Rizzuti of Waterbury along with several nieces, nephews and several grand-dogs. She was predeceased by a brother, Albert Smith.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 18th at 11 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 690 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Her service will be TribuCast and can be attended remotely via link: https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/2428654352.
Burial will follow at Edgewood Cemetery, Wolcott.
