Richard was married to his wife Diane for 40 blessed years. Together, they walked and rolled through life, “one day at a time,” making memories that will last a lifetime. No one in the world was prouder to be a grandparent than Richard. He adored his grandson, Blake with his entire heart. His love for the Jaguars also ran deep and there’s no doubt he’s currently up in Heaven yelling, “Gooooo Jaguars!” He was a mainstay at Grumpy’s Restaurant, Orange Park’s popular breakfast establishment. He made everyone smile when he entered the building. He had the unique ability to brighten the day of anyone he saw. He enjoyed passing out custom pens to strangers and handing dollar bills to kids in hopes of jumpstarting their college savings accounts. Richard was proud to be an American. He served for 22 years, 1 month, and 6 days in the Navy (not that he was counting). You knew within five minutes of meeting him that he was a Master Chief. He enjoyed volunteering at Haven Hospice, Orange Park Medical Center, spending his time helping others. He was actively involved with Knights of Columbus and Saint Catherine’s Catholic Church. He was both stubborn and generous, with a heart that beat for his family, friends, and his dog Louie. To know Richard was to love him, and we are all better for it.
