Robert “Bob” Edward Larmon went to be with the Lord peacefully on June 30, 2021 at his residence of University Village at the age of 94. A Tampa native Robert was born at Gordon Keller Hospital in 1927, to Ermine and Rubel Larmon. He was an active and dedicated member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ of Tampa. Where he was known as the “Committee Man”. During his time at the church he met his future wife Doris R. Musselman later to be married in 1950 for 51 glorious years. Provided service and leadership to the church and professional organizations including AISC and civic organizations including Meniak. Along with 16 years of volunteer service to Meal on Wheels. Active with the Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club and the Krewe of Venus. In 2009 when First Christian Church shut its doors, he continued his path of faith at Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church where he was an active part of the Friendship Fellowship class. Bob graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1945. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII from 1945-46. His service on the tanker peeked his interest in steel construction. He obtained his Bachelors in Business Science at the University of Tampa in 1949, eventually taking over the family business of Musselman Steel as President/Owner until his retirement. After the passing of his wife Doris Larmon in 2001, Bob married Carol Chambers in 2002 where he also met at First Christian Church and he spent the next 12 wonderful years with, until her passing in 2013. Bob was a faithful, kind, loving, funny, outgoing, compassionate, generous, understanding and a ROCK to many, who loved golf, fishing, dancing, bridge, beach, traveling and most of all he loved being surrounded by his family. He was also proceeded in death by many loved ones including his parents and his brother Curtis Larmon. He is survived by his children Deborah Larmon, Brenda (Larmon) Boggs, Robert Larmon Jr. and daughter in law Susan Larmon. Grandchildren, Ashley Alfonso (Erick), Christy Hiers (Robert), Matthew Larmon, Brittany Serbu (Zack), Ryan Larmon (Halley). Great Grandchildren, Meghan, Andrew, Brooke Hiers, Leah Alfonso and Josephine Serbu and beloved companion, Nancy Huffer.
Please join us at his Celebration of Life being held on July 23, 2021 at 1:00pm at Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church, 2902 W. Fletcher Avenue, Tampa, FL 33618 followed by reception. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church in memory of Bob Larmon.
