She was born in Masontown, PA on September 8,1922 and graduated from All Saints High School as Valedictorian of her class. After graduation, she went to Baltimore to work in a factory that built military planes that supported WWII. She also talked about enjoying working in a little candy store (Kolatches) where she learned how to make candy. After returning to Masontown, she married William (Bill) Diamond on May 4, 1944. She and Bill ran a successful grocery store (Diamond’s Market) for nearly 20 years. After Bill’s death, she moved to Charlotte, NC, where she enjoyed the remainder of her life.
She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Diamond; daughter, Amy Celli; father, Giacomo Bonamo; mother, Angelina Di Sipio Bonamo; brothers, Anthony and Dominic and sister Pauline.
She is survived by her son Billy and his wife Liz; daughter Susan and her husband David; grandchildren Michelle Diamond and Melissa (Diamond) Murphy; great grandson, Grayson; and sisters, Catherine, Jenny, Mary and Celia.
A Funeral Service was held at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel in Mint Hill, NC, and her cremated remains will be buried next to her husband Bill at St Agnes Cemetery in Masontown. PA.
