Armstrong, Phillip Leroy, 84, of Parkland, passed away November 21, 2019. Phillip was born November 17, 1935 in Marshalltown, Iowa to the late Arley and Myrtle (Pinneo) Armstrong. He coached little league football, baseball, and enjoyed flying his private plane. He enjoyed taking photos of family and friends and forever had a camera in his hands. His love for cooking started at the Maid Rite in Marshalltown, Iowa. He continued his love for cooking in the U.S. Marine Corp. All through his life his favorite pastime was to cook for his family and friends. His most recent pastime was following the football career of his grandson, Bryson, who is presently a football star at Kennesaw State, Kennesaw, GA. He was the most standup, loyal, kind Gentleman we knew. He was predeceased by his son, Curtis Armstrong. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 38 years, Rita. sons, Alan Armstrong, Bryan Armstrong, daughter, Kara Armstrong, daughters-in-law, Valerie Armstrong, Marilza Armstrong, grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Moore, Ashley (Kirk) Lusby, Curtis Armstrong, Avery (Ben) McCleskey, Jessica Armstrong, Bryson Armstrong, Anthony Crupi, Ludmila Valenca, great grandchildren, Savannah, Annlea, Jacob, Henry, Jolea, Joelle, Teddi and brother, Joel (Penny) Armstrong. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 1, 2019, 1:00 - 4:00pm at Kraeer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 1655 University Drive, Coral Springs where a Celebration of Life Service will be Monday, December 2, 2019, 11:00am with interment to immediately follow at South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth with military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Phillip's memory to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org.
