Michael Gustave "Skipper" Duldt was born in Coplay, PA. on August 15, 1934 and passed away on Wednesday July 22, 2020 at the age of 85. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who was very much loved and will be greatly missed.
Michael grew up living and working on the family farm in Pennsylvania. Michael served his country proudly by joining the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17. Michael made a career of the Marine Corps serving for 26 ½ years rising to the rank of Sergeant Major.
Sergeant Major Duldt served 2 combat tours during the Vietnam War from January 1966 to February 1967 and April 1969 to March 1970. He was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 stars, Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and 7 Good Conduct Awards. Upon retiring from the United States Marine Corps, Sergeant Major Duldt entered into the private security industry working for Security Engineers for the next 34 years. In 2013 Michael retired from the private sector to enjoy life and spending time with the family.
While serving at the United States Embassy in Bolivia, as a young Marine, Michael met the love of his life Bertha. They fell in love and were married in Bolivia in April of 1954. They were together for the next 56 years. Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Gus & Anna Duldt and his wife Bertha Duldt. He is survived by his loving family. Daughters; Sandra & Susan Duldt. Sons; Michael (Leslie) & Mark Duldt. Grandchildren; Alex Duldt, Anna Cruz (Daniel), Megan, Jeanne, Jessie & Abigail Reeser & Kaitlyn Duldt. Great Grandchildren; Rhiannon Vasquez & Isle Rae Curtis.
Graveside services will be held at the Ten Commandment Mausoleum at Jefferson Memorial Gardens on Monday August 3, 2020 at 10:00 am. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.RidoutsTrussvilleChapel.com for the DULDT family.
