Len is survived by his wife, Bea; his daughter, Marissa and his son, Jason
(Shelly). He is survived by his sister, Myra (Grant) and his nieces and nephews
from his brother and sister, Heather, Cheryl, Larry and Brad. He also had several
in-laws, Phyllis (Wayne), Joy (Dean), Sinclair (Sarina) plus more nieces and
nephews, Chris (Erika), Reese, Nicole, Stefanie, Byron and Colin. He even had
several grand-nieces and grand-nephews, Ryan, Jesse, Parker, Heather, Dylan,
Oliver and Sofia. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Ernest and Lydia Bradley,
his two brothers, Bill and Eddie, and his brother-in-law, Howard.
Len was born in Vancouver but lived in Port Alberni, Mission and Coombs as
he grew up. As an adult, he worked at MacMillan Fisheries in Vancouver. He
discovered his love for rugby and played with the Scribes for many years. He
later moved to Nanaimo where he worked for B.C. Ferries for almost 20 years.
For Len, his family came first. He always had their backs and was willing to
support and help Bea, Marissa and Jason with everything. He was their rock and
cheering squad.
Len made so many good friends over the years. He was genuinely interested
in what other people had to say and usually had some of his own interesting stories to share.
Len was very knowledgeable about various plants and spent a lot of time in
his garden. Len loved to cook, often trying new recipes. He enjoyed dining out
and had so many favourite multicultural dishes. He appreciated music, especially
rock and jazz. He was a loyal Canuck fan and followed soccer, rugby, basketball
and most other sports. Len had a strong interest in Indigenous cultures and art.
He really enjoyed volunteering at the Port Theatre. He loved the many animals in
his life, including sheep, pigs, cats and dogs.
His friends and family will always remember Len for his friendly sense of
humour, his kindness, his acceptance of others and his willingness to help and
support everyone.
A celebration of life will be held on September 19, 2020. Please contact
Bea, Marissa or Jason, or email [email protected] to inform the family if you are planning to attend.
