Helen was born in Camden, NJ on February 20, 1939, the daughter of Joseph and Margaret Friddell. She moved to Jacksonville when she was six years old, graduating from Landon High School, Class of '57. She was an active member of First Baptist Church Jax, singing in the Chancel Choir for over 20 years and serving the Lord in her Sunday school class. She also enjoyed performing with the Sweet Adelines ladies singing group of Jacksonville. She worked in the insurance and banking industry for many years. Helen held the home together as both a Navy and Jacksonville Fire Fighter's wife for 59 years prior to the death of her husband. She loved her family and was indeed the example of a Proverbs 31 wife and mother.
She preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Wilson and her sister Elizabeth (Betty) Ward. She is survived by her brother William (Joyce) Friddell and by her three children, Dawn (Danny) Meyer of Jacksonville, FL, Drew (Jan) Wilson of Bangor, ME, and Dracie (Joey) Shute of Lancaster, SC. five grandchildren, Diana (Robert) McMinn, Rachel Wilson, Rebekah (Jesse) Sluder, Nathan and Nolan Shute and one great grandchild Haeden Sluder. Along with many nieces and nephews.
The services will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd with a visitation at 10:00 am followed by a service at 11:00am. Her final resting place will be at Jacksonville National Cemetery at 1:30pm.
