Russell Granbery Bellezza, Jr. passed away on March 31,2013 in Newark, DE at age 81. He was born in Schenectady,
New York on September 26,1931 to Russell G. Bellezza and Marian Thompson Bellezza.
Russell moved to Baltimore at age 5 with his parents and sister. He attended Friends School in Baltimore and graduated
from Admiral Farragut Academy in 1950.
After serving in the US Coastguard for 3 years, he attended Columbia University in New York City, and graduated with a BS
and Masters in Business Administration. Soon after graduation he met his future wife on a blind date. She was a nurse at
Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. They were married in 1959 and moved to Bronxville, New York, where they lived for 40 tears.
Russell worked with several companies such as Pan Am and Time Inc. He ended his business career as an Internal Management Engineer with Met Life in New York City.
His love, after his family, was his music. He loved the Jazz Age and the Swing Band Era. Russell was an accomplished
Clarinet player and idolized Benny Goodman and Bix Beiderbecke. But, I mustn't forget his addiction to ice cream. Every
meal ended with two large scoops of the delicious stuff, usually chocolate and strawberry.
Russell is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jacqueline Hitchings Bellezza, two daughters, Amy G. Bellezza, of Wilmington, DE
Nina B. Harasika of Newark, DE, two grandsons Luke Harasika and Jack Harasika and a nephew Richard R. Espey.
He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Marcia B. Espey.
Burial will be at the discretion of his family at Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
