Karen was born to Melvin and Lucile (Whittler) Jenkins on January 20th, 1954 in Eldora, Iowa. As a young lady, she participated in competitive bowling, was an avid softball player in an adult women's league, and enjoyed watching her late husband Merle on any racetrack. The majority of her work-life was spent at Danfoss Power Solutions until retiring in early 2019. She loved spending time with her great-grandchildren whether it be playing at the park, singing songs in the living room, or watching them ride bikes in the driveway.
Karen loved to sneak away to play the slots at any casino, and would often plan a trip every few months to indulge. She loved to drive and would make trips to see friends in different states. Some of her favorite trips included the Kansas City, MO area, North Carolina, Georgia, and Colorado, loading up on audio-books and water. In her free time, you could most often find her hunched over the table with a jigsaw puzzle, or playing games on her smart phone.
