

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 16 at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames with burial to follow at Ames Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday at Stevens Memorial Chapel.
On July 5, 1934 in Algona, Iowa, Ruth Ann Cook was the youngest of twelve born to Henry and Leota (Lashbrook) Cook. She was united in marriage to Joseph Saddoris in Sioux Falls, SD on March 4, 1961. The couple made their home in Ames while Ruth was employed as a waitress at Broiler Steakhouse for 35 years.
Ruth had a passion for life and enjoyed traveling with Joe, dancing, animals, being outdoors, and shopping. She was also an avid Iowa State Cyclones fan. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, and held them all close to her heart.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Joseph of Ames; daughters, LuAnn (Dalen) Jones, Susan Hinks, Patricia (Tom) Ellefson, and Connie (Dennis) Peteritis; grandchildren, Chris Berg, Dillon Ellefson, Allie Jones, Taylor Hinks, and Lindy Jones; great-grandchildren, Abbi Berg and Max Berg; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents and eleven siblings.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Great Iowa Chapter Alzheimer’s Association or Bethany Manor.
