CB and Phil,
When Peg and I received your note of Betty's passing our eyes filled with tears, our of hearts ache with yours.  She loved you so much CB and was the perfect model of a godly wife of noble character.   We have such wonderful memories of our life with you and Betty – doing ministry and life together; laughing, praying, crying, and all those late night rook games, what fun.  Betty reminds me of both Mary and Martha in the scriptures.  She was the perfect servant as she served with you in ministry, touching the lives of thousands of teenagers – cooking, (I don't know how many thousands of hot and hamburgers), praying, and sharing the love of Jesus.  However, Betty also took the time to sit at the feet of Jesus learning of him, enjoying his presence, and reflecting Him to each of us that she touched.  Phil, as Peggy mentioned your Mom was so proud of you.  I remember when you were born.  Both your Mom and Dad were so excited.  You were and are the joy of their life.   Jesus has reached down and taken you precious wife and mom into her promised reward.  But it if for you my dear friend CB and Phil that I pray God will fill your aching hearts with his comfort and peace moment by moment.  Thank you CB and Betty for your example of Christ in my life and all you have touched.  I love you!

Dearest CB and Phillip, 
Words can't express how profoundly I feel your loss!  My heart aches for you!  As I read the previous posts here, I agree that she bravely faced so much in her life!  CB, we were so touched by the loving care you gave Betty - we witnessed it when we visited last year at this time!  She was blessed to have you by her side!  Phil, your Mom was SOOOO proud of you!  You were the apple of her eye! Your care for your parents is heart-warming!  Your Dad will need you more than ever now.  We are praying for you both as you move on from here!  Betty is now among that great cloud of witnesses cheering you on to love and good works!  May your memories be sweet and comforting!  May your solace be found in the promise of Christ of an eternal future with Him!

Aversboro School until retirement.
She was a warm,loving,and giving lady.
With the bright beam of smiles she
wore, one could always recognize-
"It Was Betty"...

Clarence and Phil, We were saddened to read in the News @ Observer about Betty's passing.  We cannot imagine the world without her upbeat attitude which was an inspiration to all of us. She endured health challenges and auto accidents with  much courage and faith.  Needless to say, her commitment to family and YFC made her an outstanding woman of God.  We love you Betty. It was such a pleasure to know and care for Ms.Betty. I retired the end of Jan. but still work when they are short handed at Wake Dialysis .So sorry to hear about Ms. Betty passing, but know she is at peace. She was such a trooper and always sweet and smiling. You  took such good care of her. I will pray that God will Bless and Keep you and give you peace and comfort.

Clarence and Phillip,
Regret Dennis and I were not more available during Betty's illness because of Dennis' health.  But, we remember so many good times at your home - lots of laughter and fellowship in the Lord.  We remember Betty's chocolate cake and her love for family!  She was a brave soldier and now she's enjoying glory with Him!  What a hope we have in Christ!
