Blake Albert Lawson

Blake was a loving and devoted husband, father, and brother. He savored every moment of life. This showed in his love for his family and his love for nature. He would always take the time to smell the roses and feed the birds. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. While serving, he married his High School sweetheart. They celebrated their 40th anniversary. He loved jamming with his sister, having Sunday brunch with his wife, and taking his sons to the BMX track. He will truly be missed by all of the lives he touched.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Lawson; sons: Josh Lawson of Peoria, Il, and D.M. Lawson of Raleigh, NC; sisters: Teddi Young of Marion, TX and Joy Salerni of Kingwood, TX; brother: Freddy Lawson of Reno, NV; and nephew: JoBlake Younge of San Antonio, TX.

A private memorial service will be held 3:00 pm Friday, December 30, 2011 with reception at Swift Creek Baptist Church, 9300 Penny Rd. Raleigh, NC 27606.
