Daisy Mae Cury May

Daisy Mae May, 81, of Apex died Sunday, September 15, 2013. Mrs. May was born and raised in Eastern Kentucky with her seven sisters and one brother. She married Donald G May and moved to southern Illinois where she raised 3 sons. She is survived by her husband, Don and 3 sons: Byron May (Diana); daughter Khoury, Todd May and David May (Kecia); daughters Madison and Payton. She is preceded in death by her sisters and brother.

Trained as a Physical Therapist, she retired from practice in 1962 to raise her eldest son and 3 years later her twin boys in Mt. Vernon, Il.

Daisy was very active in local Mt. Vernon politics, serving on the City Council and participating in many outreach activities in the local community. Her family moved to Florida in 1983 when her twins went to college. She remained active managing a restaurant and spending time with her family and sisters. Daisy adored her children and loved to cook for them and any friends who came to the house.

Daisy will be laid to rest with the rest of her family in Somerset, PA.
