Debe was born in Durham on July 18, 1953 to the late Herbert Thomas Chappell and Laura Mae Little Chappell.
She graduated from Hillside High School in 1971. She spent her life looking like Cher, wearing turquoise jewelry, and shopping at thrift stores - especially the Dorcas Shop in Cary. Much of her life was in the customer service field where she loved the interactions with clients.
She is survived by her son Jeff Mixon (Amanda), daughter Taylor Mixon, two grandchildren, Brooks and Allie, and brother Tim Chappell (Dwight).
Services will be held at First Baptist Church in Morrisville, NC on January 6, 2022. Visitation at 6:00, memorial service at 7:00 and reception to follow.
