Doris Herring Banks, formerly of Apex, died August 16, 2016 in Charlotte. Doris was born September 13, 1921 in Robeson Ct to the late Annie Goins and Charlie English Herring and was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Norwood Benton (Toka) Banks; her son, Norwood Benton Banks, Jr; and her brothers Hilton, Charles, and Ronald Herring. She is survived by her daughter, Edna Banks Huneycutt; grandson, Brian K. Huneycutt; granddaughters, Emma and Eva Huneycutt all of Charlotte; beloved nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Eva Herring.
A memorial service will be held 2pm Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Apex Baptist Church with Rev. Phil Qualls and Rev. Peter Dubbelman presiding. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
