

Born March 29, 1985 in Poughkeepsie, NY, Eddie has been a resident of Apex for the past 19 years. He is survived by his parents, Edward John Rabenda, Jr. and Elizabeth Anne Rabenda of Cary, NC, his two sisters, Christine Elizabeth Rabenda and Megan Lynne Rabenda, both of Apex, as well as his beloved cat, Brock Samson in addition to numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Eddie was an accomplished varsity soccer and track and field athlete at Apex High School as well as an avid mountain biker. Eddie was also a decorated Boy Scout and member of Troop 200 in Cary, NC. He was initiated into the Order of the Arrow and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout with two Palms in 2002. He also completed two treks at Philmont Scout Reservation in New Mexico, serving as an adult leader on his second trek in 2006.
He graduated from North Carolina State University College of Engineering with Bachelors degrees in electrical and computer engineering in 2007 and a Masters of Science in Engineering in 2008. Eddie’s professional career was spent as a Hardware Engineer for IBM, where he was a third generation IBMer.
His passion for computers and engineering extended beyond his job and provided him a wonderful outlet thanks to the incredible advancements in technology which allowed Eddie the freedom and independence to work, play, and live life to the fullest. He possessed an unfaltering sense of humor, positive attitude, and patience that encouraged others to consider him an incredible friend, mentor, and leader.
Visitation will take place Monday, September 15 from 6 to 8 pm at Apex Funeral Home in Apex NC. Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, September 16 at 11:00 am at St. Andrews the Apostle Catholic Church, Apex NC. Interment will immediately follow at Wake Memorial Park, 7002 Green Hope School Road, Cary NC.
Family will receive guests in the family home in Cary following the burial.
