Craig was born on November 25, 1955 to Emery Furman “Pap” Parker and Frances Carden Parker. He was a native of Durham, NC and a graduate of Durham High School, Tampa Florida University, and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Craig was employed with Duke University for 24 years. He received the Presidents Award for Service and the Joseph G. Pietrantoni Outstanding Employee Award for Duke Surplus. Craig was the longtime former treasurer of the Triangle Buckeyes Ohio State Alumni Club where they named a service award for him, the Craig Parker Service Award.
He was the brother, uncle, cousin, or friend that you went to when you needed good advice or anything at all. He was always there for you. He had a sense of humor that would make you laugh on your bad days.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John Furman Parker and Andrew Mark Parker.
Craig is survived by his partner of 17 years, Jeff Cousins, one brother, Roger K. Parker (Phyllis) of Mebane, NC and one sister, Susan Parker Naylor (George) of Timberlake, NC, one aunt, Peggy Parker of Durham, NC and sister-in-law, Edith Parker of Lowell, NC.
Craig has a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins who all loved him dearly.
