Emily Maria DiBari

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Emily Maria DiBari of Apex, North Carolina. Emily passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025 at the age of 75 after a long battle with Stage IV cancer. She was born on July 11, 1950 in Naples, Italy. When Emily was just four years old, she and her family immigrated to America.

Emily loved her daughters and grandchildren fiercely, had a generous and beautiful heart and had the most infectious laugh.

She is proceeded in death by her father Mario Ascione, her mother Amelia Ascione and her trusted friend and sister, Jean Ann Ascione.

Emily is survived by her daughters Gina Marie DiBari, and Caitlin Ann (DiBari) Chisholm and her husband Jared. Her most treasured role was “Grammy” to her grandchildren, Raleigh Chisholm and Speed Chisholm. She is also survived by her siblings Raffaela Ascione-Hillebrand, Angelo Ascione, and Ciro Ascione and her long-time partner, Gordon Krise.

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass at St. Michael’s the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 804 High House Road, Cary, NC 27513 at 11am on Friday, July 18, 2025.
