Frank Carrol Bobbitt

Frank Bobbitt of Apex, NC passed away on March 7, 2026 at the age of 80. He was born on July 3rd, 1945 in Greensboro, NC where he grew up with his parents James and Erma Bobbitt and his siblings Doug and Katherine Bobbitt. In 1973, Frank married his partner in life and love, Mary Lassiter Bobbitt. Together, they raised two exceptional children, Frank and Jennifer Bobbitt.

Frank always had a strong sense of duty to his community. In 1964, he enlisted in the Army. After spending time in Germany working as a cryptographer for the Army, he was honorably discharged and enrolled at UNC-CH to pursue a Bachelor’s in Accounting. This was the foundation for a long career working for the State Auditor’s Office. He was proud of the work he did for the State of North Carolina and Wake County.

Frank loved life and his family. After he retired, he enjoyed travelling with his wife and cooking for his family. He read books about history and biographies of presidents and generals. He perfected his bread baking technique. Retiring to Apex was one of his best decisions and he spoke fondly of his time here. It was not uncommon to find Frank and Mary sitting on their front porch enjoying nature, listening to classical music, and waving to their neighbors on their little street in Apex. A private memorial service will be held for family at a later time.
