He was born February 15th, 1951 in New Rochelle, New York to Joseph and Mary Baltz, the 4th of five brothers: Joe, Bob, Frank, and Steve.
During his time studying at Pace University, John enlisted in the Air Force where he quickly rose through the ranks to Staff Sargent. While stationed at Patrick Air Force Base he met Linda, the love of his life.
After many dinners at Alma’s and Taco House, John would take Linda cruising around Cocoa Beach in his white MGB convertible. In true love story fashion, they would be wed after only eight months to go on and share their lives together for 49 years.
If you knew John, you knew his love of cars, because he wouldn’t stop talking about them. If John was not at the racetrack, he was driving, or watching the races at home. John turned his love of computers into a career, earning a Master’s degree from MIT and working over 20 years with IBM, and over 10 years with Cisco Systems.
His intelligence made him career driven, and the love of his family motivated him to succeed.
John will be sorely missed by his devoted wife Linda, their three children: Jonathan, Sara, and Alex, and six beautiful grandchildren: Atlas, Lyla, Evie, Rose, Luke, and Elijah.
A service to celebrate John’s life will be held at the Apex Funeral Home on Saturday, April 18th, at 3pm. In lieu of flowers consider donating to John’s favorite charities St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Association.
