John Strakowski

He was born May 30, 1927 in Newark, NJ to the late Stanley and Nellie Borek Strakowski. He was formerly from Middletown, NY and a member of Mt. Carmel Church. He also was a member of the "Polish League of American Veterans" Post#16, Pine Island, NY and a member of the "Elks Lodge" #1097 in Middletown, NY. He was a retired therapy aide from the "Middletown Psychiatric Center" and had many other extra jobs, including being a taxi driver. He loved and enjoyed trout fishing, listening to Polka music and playing the harmonica by ear.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Stella Plunkett of Seattle, WA and Sophie DeNatale of Poughkeepsie, NY.

He is going to be dearly missed by his brother Frank Strakowski of Goshen, NY, his wife Marie Catherine Strakowski; daughters, Lori Anne Strakowski, at home, and Lisa Faye Winter and her husband, Lee Philip Winter of Apex, NC; grandchildren, Sarah Michelle McCarty and her husband Andrew James McCarty of Raleigh, NC, and Emilee Rose Winter, at home; several nieces and nephews he was very fond of; and his beloved cats, at home.
