John was born on April 29, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY to Giovanni and Rose Tuosto. He served during the Korean War; John loved baseball, especially the New York Yankees and Brooklyn Dodgers, shooting pool with friends and grandchildren at Bradford Hall. Other hobbies included cooking and eating Italian food and spending time with his seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Miriam Carmela Tuosto.
He is survived by his daughter, Claireann Naumescu and her partner, James McNeely of Raleigh NC; his son, John Tuosto and his wife, Connie of Somers, NY; grandchildren, Melissa Rhodes and her husband, Brad; Philip Garofolo and his wife, Julie; Pamela Day and her husband, Kevin; Andrew Garofolo; Nicholas Tuosto; John Angelo Tuosto; and Christopher Tuosto; and great grandchildren, Ava Rhodes; Gabrielle Rhodes; Noah Garofolo Lily Garofolo Piper Garofolo; Thomas Day, Michael Day and Joey Day.
In lieu of customary remembrances or flowers, memorial contributions may be donated to American Heart Association and Myasthenia.org.
