November 3, 2021 surrounded by her family.
Born in Bayside, NY to the late Walter and Kathrine Rafter, Kathleen was one of five
children. She was well known for her generosity, honesty, and wearing her heart on
her sleeve. She loved to entertain and be social, and it was not uncommon for her
to go above and beyond for those who knew her. When her family was together,
Kathy shined the most. She cared for her three children deeply, and enjoyed
traveling together with them to the coast or the mountains.
In addition to her loving husband Richard, of 37 years, Kathleen is survived by her
children, Kevin and wife Chrissy, Jason and wife Niyati, and Jillian, as well as her two
grandchildren Michael and Adrianna.
A funeral service for Kathleen will be held Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 11:30 AM
at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 804 High House Rd, Cary, NC
27513. A celebration of her life will follow at the Hibernian Pub in Raleigh, NC at
2:00 PM.
